Purple Bud Automatic seeds originate from two premium Afghan hash plants, giving the strain its stocky form and rapid flowering. The inclusion of a Jamaican cultivar adds 25% sativa genetics, while ruderalis genes provide autoflowering traits. This genetic blend results in plants that grow to about 90–140 cm in height.

Cultivation typically takes around 14 weeks, with a flowering period of 8–10 weeks. Due to its autoflowering nature, it requires minimal effort and expertise, making it an excellent option for novice growers. Yields are slightly lower than regular strains but are often considered a fair trade-off for the ease of cultivation.
