AK-47: A Timeless Hybrid with a Versatile Presence

AK-47 is a legendary cannabis hybrid born from the crossbreeding of Mexican, Columbian, Afghani, and Thai genetics. Known for its calming and ultra-relaxing effects, this 60% Sativa-dominant strain delivers a pleasant cerebral high that makes it a favorite among cannabis enthusiasts for evening relaxation.

Sensation Seeds’ version of AK-47 is an easy-to-grow hybrid that offers a skunky and resinous experience. Whether grown indoors or outdoors, this plant reaches a manageable height of 80–140cm indoors and 130–170cm outdoors. It provides generous yields, up to 575g/m² indoors and up to 650g outdoors, with a flowering time of 8–9 weeks. Its compact buds are densely coated in resin, making it a rewarding harvest for growers.

AK-47’s intense skunky aroma during flowering means growers should consider scent control if grown near others. While it may no longer hold the record for highest THC levels, this strain remains highly potent and has earned numerous awards since its introduction in the late 1990s, including a third-place finish at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2011.

This is a go-to choice for evening use, offering a heavy-hitting, long-lasting effect that’s perfect for unwinding, watching movies, or getting a good night’s sleep. Medically, it can help with stress, insomnia, chronic pain, and muscle tension. Its complex flavor profile includes sweet and floral notes with hints of lemon, earthy wood, and a touch of spice.

Sensation Seeds’ AK-47 is a classic strain that continues to impress with its ease of cultivation, potency, and versatility. Whether you're a seasoned grower or just starting out, this strain is a reliable choice for quality cannabis.
