Runtz Automatic is a 70% indica hybrid that merges the beloved Runtz strain with indica ruderalis genetics, resulting in an autoflowering variant. Its genetic background features a mix of Zkittlez—combining Skunk, Afghani, and Jack Herer—with Gelato, a blend of Sunset Sherbet and Girl Scout Cookies.

This strain grows into short, compact plants with tight internodal spacing and a sturdy, bushy structure. A strong central cola is surrounded by smaller, resinous buds. As an autoflowering plant, it begins flowering automatically after a few weeks, eliminating the need to adjust light schedules.

Indoors, Runtz Automatic typically reaches heights of 25–80 cm and can yield 250–325 grams per square metre over a 60–65 day flowering period. Outdoors, it may grow slightly taller but rarely exceeds 100 cm, producing up to 250 grams per plant.

The buds of Runtz Automatic are dense, frosty, and display vibrant lime green and purple hues with orange pistils. The main cola dominates the upper part of the plant, while the lower branches bear smaller, equally tight buds. These flowers are not overly leafy, and their resinous coating is manageable for trimming.

Due to its automatic nature, Runtz Automatic is not well-suited for advanced techniques like mainlining or SCROG, which require extended vegetative periods. Its delicate branches also make practices like supercropping or lollipopping impractical. While its compact size suggests a SOG setup, the lack of control over flowering can complicate this approach.

As Runtz Automatic matures, it emits a sweet, fruity aroma with tropical candy notes and a light earthy undertone. This scent intensifies during flowering and may require additional odor control for discreet cultivation.

After curing, the buds offer a mellow aroma combining tropical fruits, sugary candy, and subtle citrus zest. The flavor delivers a burst of tropical fruit candy on the inhale, followed by creamy undertones and a slightly herbal finish on the exhale. Its taste is sweet, dessert-like, and true to its name.
