Germination Tips

Before handling the seeds, remember that they are delicate and can be easily infected by bacteria on your hands. Begin by moistening two paper towels with room temperature water. Lay one paper towel on a plate, place the seeds about 2 cm apart, and cover them with the second paper towel. Remove excess water and store the setup in a warm, dark location under an opaque plate.

Monitor the setup every 4–6 hours to ensure the paper towels stay moist. Germination should occur within 24 to 120 hours. Once the seeds sprout tap roots, plant them with the roots facing down and cover with about 2 cm of soil. Keep the soil consistently moist by spraying it regularly.

Maintain a temperature of 69.8 ºF – 78.8 ºF (21 ºC – 26 ºC) during germination and use purified water with a pH between 5.5 and 6.5. Avoid exposing the seeds to light for more than one minute before and during germination.
