Genetics and Lineage

This strain is a hybrid of two legendary cannabis varieties: Mendocino Purple, also known as “Mendocino Purps” or “Purps,” which originates from the Mendocino and Humboldt County regions of California, and Purple Kush, renowned for its potent narcotic high, deep purple buds coated in resin, and rich earthy flavor.

This plant is robust with large leaves and can grow quite tall. When cultivated indoors, the SCROG system is recommended due to its size. It is important not to overfeed this strain; signs of nutrient overload will appear quickly, so careful control of soil nutrients is essential when using liquid fertilizers.

The aroma and flavor profile varies depending on the phenotype. The more purple buds tend to emit strong earthy notes typical of Purple Kush, while the greener buds offer a sweeter touch reminiscent of Mendocino Purple. The green phenotypes usually finish flowering 5 to 7 days earlier than their violet counterparts.
