Maui Waui

Description from World Wide Cultivars

A Tropical Classic with Creative Spark

Maui Waui is a legendary Hawaiian Sativa that has defined tropical cannabis culture since the 1960s. This feminized photoperiod strain offers a bright, functional experience characterized by euphoric uplift and creative energy. With an 80% Sativa and 20% Indica ratio, it provides a sunny mental motion perfect for daytime use, offering a clear-headed high that avoids heavy physical sedation.

Genetic Heritage and Growth Profile

Derived from Hawaiian Sativa IBL genetics, Maui Waui maintains a true island identity. While its Sativa roots provide vigorous growth and an energetic spirit, the 20% Indica influence ensures the experience remains smooth and comfortable. In the garden, these plants are known for their impressive stature, reaching heights of approximately 6.6ft (200cm).

The strain typically flowers in 56-70 days (or 9-11 weeks indoors). To achieve the best results, growers should provide stable lighting and consistent airflow. Yields are impressive, particularly in warm outdoor climates where plants can produce between 800-1200g per plant, while indoor yields range from 350-450g/m².

Flavor Profile and Sensory Experience

The terpene profile of Maui Waui is a vibrant celebration of island flavors. The smoke leads with a sharp citrus and lemon brightness, transitioning into sweet tropical notes and hints of fresh pineapple. Subtle woody undertones provide a warm, grounded finish to the fruit-forward palate.

Effects and Potency

Containing 14-19% THC, Maui Waui delivers a medium potency that favors upbeat clarity over brute force. Users can expect:

• Uplifting: A clean, sunny wave of euphoria.
• Creative: A mental lift that makes it easier to focus on projects or social plans.
• Smooth Relaxation: A gentle backdrop of ease that keeps the experience active and clear.

Cultivation Essentials

Maui Waui thrives in warm, Mediterranean-style environments with plenty of direct light. To manage its significant stretch and ensure even light distribution, indoor growers are encouraged to use a ScrOG setup. Maintaining temperatures between 75-85°F (24-29°C) and reducing relative humidity to around 40% during the flowering stage will help preserve the resin expression and tropical aroma.
